Now we started up the excavator again. We have in recent weeks expanded and improved the old classic Flinbanan. It has been in need of an operation for a long time and now we´re at it. We have improved the end of the upper section and built an entirely new section that connects the top part with the next section. We have also improved and extended the last part. Instead of a real “braking slope” in the end we have built a new section that connects directly to Kälkspåret.
Everything is ready to open if we just get a bit better weather. The new sections need to dry up before we can open, otherwise there will be a mud hole of everything. September has not started as well as we hoped. Normally September is a relatively dry month in Åre so hopefully it improve soon.

During the summer, our local bike club Åre Bergscyklister has built a new trail. The name of the trail is Nelson and starts from World Cupleden in height with VM6: an. The trail winds its way down towards Solstigen and the start of Tjärnis Stig. The trail is hand-built and severity is black. A perfect black line if you combining Nelson with Tjärnis Stig.
I take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped to build the trail. It´s a huge effort during the summer that really has improved the riding in Åre Bike Park.

We will also begin the construction of a new trail. The construction will last throughout the fall. More about this later on.

There is still time to come here and ride. We are open daily until October 4. Cable car is open daily, while the lifts VM6:an, Hummeln and Bergbanan is open Fridays to Sundays.
